Our Story
Cousin’s Kolaches is more than a bakery—it’s a family legacy in the making. You may know Cousin Vinnie, Cynde, and their daughter Tara from their world-famous chicken wings or from their years of community involvement in Lake County. Tara, who started working in the food business at age 11, is now stepping into the spotlight to open her very own restaurant.
Her love for kolaches sparked the idea behind Cousin’s Kolaches—Central Florida’s first kolache bakery and cafe, opening in mid-2025. After tasting kolaches across the country and training with a seasoned baker, Tara combined family tradition with fresh inspiration to bring this delicious, portable pastry to her hometown. With support from her parents, Tara is proud to create a local spot that feels like home.
Our Founders
I was born in Houston Texas, for as long as I can remember, Kolaches have always been my favorite breakfast go to. Since relocating here in 2007, I have truly missed starting my day off with coffee and kolaches. It was this craving that was the springboard for creating Cousin’s Kolaches. After spending many years growing up in the food industry and looking up to my dad, I have learned what it takes to run a successful restaurant.
My Mantra for Cousin’s Kolaches is F.E.D Fresh- Every- Day! I am grateful for this opportunity to exceed your expectations!

Our Founders
In June, 2025 I will turn 64 years old. I have lived a very full life. The thing I am most proud of is my family. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife Cynde for 36 years. We have been blessed with two crazy cool daughters, (Tara and Kendra) and two awesome grandsons!
Tara started working at “Cousin Vinnie’s Chicken Wings” when she was only 11 years old. Last year she approached me and asked me if I would build her a Kolache, donut and coffee cafe.
Building “Cousins Kolaches” was not easy. I feel very blessed to have had so many business people in Central Florida step up and support us to build this unique breakfast café.
